Vanessa McDowell's Story

Vanessa was born on December 19 1972 to Scottish wizards Andrew and Fiona McDowell in the city of Edinburgh, Scotland. Her parents had met as students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The McDowell family were a pure-blood family, but Vanessa's great-grandfather on her mother's side was a half-blood.

When Vanessa turned 11, she was invited to attend Hogwarts. She was sorted into Gryffindor, which she soon discovered was the same house that her father was sorted into. It was here that she met Charles "Charlie" Weasley, a fellow Gryffindor and the two became good friends. During her time at Hogwarts, Vanessa discovered she was an expert at flying a broomstick and was chosen to be a member of the Gryffindor team as a Beater, a role she excelled at. It was during her second year that she started to have a crush on Charlie,who by now was her best friend.

When not playing Quidditch, Vanessa was a very intelligent student. The only lesson she hated was Potions. During her third year, she chose to take Care of Magical Creatures, a class she excelled at at. When she received her OWL results, she was surprised to learn she'd passed all of them, including Potions, which she had only just passed. Upon leaving Hogwarts, Vanessa returned to Edinburgh, but there was one person on her mind...Charlie Weasley. After finding out where he was from his mother, Molly, Vanessa made her way to Romania and decided to join him in studying dragons. It was during this time that she started to realise that her feelings for Charlie were genuine and she loved living in Romania.

During the summer of 1997, Charlie's brother Bill married Fleur Delacour. Charlie was asked to be best man and Vanessa went with him as his guest. Seeing how beautiful she looked during the day made Charlie realise that he was falling for her.

In 1998, Vanessa and Charlie both signed to be part of the new Order of the Phoenix. Lord Voldemort was finally defeated by Harry Potter, but not before Charlie's younger brother Fred was killed. When they heard the news, Vanessa comforted him, which made his feelings for her grow stronger.

One year later, during the first anniversary of Harry's victory over Voldemort, Vanessa confessed to Charlie how she felt about him, and she was shocked that he felt the same way. This lead to the two sharing their first kiss and starting a relationship. Three years later, Charlie proposed marriage to Vanessa and she said yes. They married in Vanessa's homecity of Edinburgh and spent their honeymoon in Paris. It was during that time that they consummated their relationship for the first time.

Fifteen years later, (the time that Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows epilogue took place) Charlie and Vanessa watched as their 11 year old daughter Minerva Molly (named in honour of Professor Minerva McGonagall and her grandmother on her father's side) step onto the Hogwarts Express for the first time. With them was their five year old son, Andrew Fred (named after his grandfather on his mother's side and late uncle on his father's side). Vanessa told her daughter that she would be proud of her no matter what house she'd be in.
